Tyres & Exhaust Systems

The summer is the time of year when millions of cars will take to the road heading for the long drive to your favourite holiday destinations. For those families that travel abroad in their cars it is estimated that 80,000 calls requesting breakdown assistance involve faulty exhaust systems. Whilst trouble with your exhaust systems may not be catastrophic, it can cause a great deal of inconvenience to your holiday.

Every vehicle needs sound tyres to drive safely. Your tyres are your only contact with the road surface and are therefore critical to effective steering, braking and acceleration. It is therefore necessary to have your tyres regularly checked for wear and damage. In particular you need to pay attention to the tyre tread and tyre walls. If vibrations can be felt through either the steering wheel or the drivers seat they may be an indication of a badly damaged tyre casing which could blow-out at any time without warning.

MoT Test Preparation

Whilst the MoT test is not an alternative to the correct servicing of a vehicle nor is it a validation of the condition of a vehicle when offered for sale.
The test covers the following areas: Lights, Steering and Suspension, Tyres and Wheels, Brakes, Seat Belts, General.

Whilst some deterioration will take place between services and tests a vehicle that has been regularly serviced and maintained inline with manufacturers specifications should be able to pass the MoT test.

A number of motorists are uncomfortable with the premise that the same company that carries out the MoT test also carries out the preparation. At A.M. Engineering we are happy to prepare your car in readiness for the MoT test.
